Cole Edmonson MS, RN, FACHE, NEA-BC, Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas has almost 20 years of health care experience and has a proven track record with increasing nursing engagement, physician satisfaction with nursing, increasing HCHAPS scores and NDNQI indicators at or better than benchmarks. As the Magnet Program Coordinator at his last facility, Cole successfully lead the organization to becoming the 94th recognized hospital in the nation, the 9th in Texas, the 1st in North Texas and the first in HCA. As the CNO, he led the organization to be the first re-designated Magnet facility in North Texas and HCA. Cole is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. He serves as the President of the North Texas Organization of Nurse Executives, Secretary of the Texas Organization of Nurse Executives, and a member of American Organization of Nurse Executives. He is also an active member of the Texas Nurse Association and the American Nurses Association. Cole is a renowned public speaker and has published numerous articles on such topics as evidence based nursing, customer service in health care and the aging of the nursing workforce, to name a few. Past recognitions include being named a Great 100 nurse, receiving the Texas Nurses Association District 4 Nurse of the Year, Nursing Management Magazine's Visionary Leader Award, Texas Organization of Nurse Executives Excellence in Leadership Award and Nurses Week Nursing Excellence Award for Advancing/Leading the Profession. Cole has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from the Oklahoma University College of Nursing. He anticipates receiving his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Texas Christian University in 2011. |
